Description
This was a specific commission of the wonderful Asteris Hotel in Skala, Kefalonia. The composition was of a night view of the bar, but hopelessly complicated. I am drawn to sparseness and isolation in my work, so had to keep on simplifying down the subject matter, which took a lot of time. Happily the clients like the end product. There is a hint of Hopper here, which I had not realised at the time. I am now excited to create new work along this theme, a happy hybrid of my ‘Alone Not Lonely’ and ‘She Is Unknown’ series
